Services

In short, I do technology.

If that's not specific enough, these are some of the general categories:

  • Setup and run servers
  • Networking (including wireless)
  • Software installation and troubleshooting
  • Web site development
  • Web programming
  • Technology consulting
  • Project management
  • Build computers

I hear the horror stories about people calling into tech support at a particular company to only be bounced around between different departments because each department thinks another should know the answer to your question.

I'm not that guy. If I don't know the answer to your question, chances are very high that I can at least point you to someplace or someone that can.

While my experience and knowledge in particular areas might be better than other areas, I don't "specialize" in any particular field. I understand the process it takes for things to work in this industry.

For you to read this page right now, there are over a dozen puzzle pieces that all have to fit together to make that work. My server needs to be on, software needs to be running, network cards configured, wires crimped correctly, ARP tables up-to-date, DNS servers configured and responding, BGP routing active, transit providers peered, Internet connections tested and active, operating systems configured correctly and browsers set correctly. It only takes a few minutes to narrow down the problem if you know what you're looking at.

Looking to try and leverage advances in technology for your company? Something taking a lot of time that you suspect could be automated? Website not performing the way you think it should? Have an interesting idea but need a technical person to talk it through and make it happen?

I've been doing this kind of stuff for a long time. I've been under desks crimping wire, have helped companies develop new Internet strategies and have helped build entirely new companies from the ground up using technology.

I'll meet with you to discuss your ideas for free. Unless some other arrangement is made beyond that point, a flat rate of $45 per hour is all I ask once we get started.
